Abstract
The article contains three main parts. The first presents the basics of the situational approach in showing the etiology and dynamics of sexual offenses. It presents the first typologies of sex offenders in whom external (situational) factors were the main causes of criminal activity. They also played the main role in the dynamics of this type of behavior. The second part contains the analysis of the most important studies on the modus operandi of sexual offenses, in which studies take into account the role of situational factors in subsequent stages of the criminal cycle. The third and most comprehensive part is devoted to discussing Situational Crime Prevention (SCP). Particular emphasis was placed on two basic issues: The first is the necessary stimulation remodeling of the criminal’s environment so that it does not affect them further in a deviant and criminal manners. The second issue is the organization of the new environment in such a way as to improve their behavior.
