Abstract

The article presents the strategies for describing the phenomenon of translation in the post-Yugoslav literature of exile, referring to the concept of born translated literature by R.L. Walkowitz and perception of the role of translation in contemporary culture by B. Bachmann-Medick and Mieczysław Dąbrowski. The author presents selected translation strategies of post-Yugoslav writers who play the role of their own translators and describe the experience of otherness, exile and translation.

Katarzyna Majdzik-Papić, University of Silesia in Katowice

KATARZYNA MAJDZIK PAPIĆ | dr nauk humanistycznych w zakresie literaturoznawstwa, przekładoznawczyni, adiunkt w Instytucie Literaturoznawstwa Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w Katowicach; absolwentka filologii chorwackiej na Uniwersytecie Śląskim i lingwistyki na Uniwersytecie Jagiellońskim. Jej zainteresowania naukowe koncentrują się wokół współczesnej literatury chorwackiej i serbskiej — ich historii, poetyki oraz recepcji przekładowej; ponadto zajmuje się teorią i praktyką translatorską oraz filozofią przekładu i przekładoznawstwa. Współredaktorka wyboru przekładów najnowszego dramatu chorwackiego Kroatywni. Autorka artykułów poświęconych chorwackiej literaturze kobiecej, przekładowi artystycznemu w ramach języka chorwackiego i polskiego oraz tekstów teoretycznych z zakresu przekładoznawstwa i filozofii przekładu. Autorka monografii: Przekład, czyli na styku dwóch podmiotowości (2015), Narzędzia analizy przekładu (współautor: D. Słapek, 2015).
