Between literary canon and multiplied culture

Abstract

Contemporary cultural changes force Polish literary critics to constantly change their views on literature. Traditional literary canon is prone to stagnation and inertia, but multiculturalism may lead to a dangerous melting in the multiplied maze of cultural interconnections. Trying to overcome such antinomies, the author of the article focuses on the criteria that are important in the reception of Polish culture abroad. Literary canon is not regarded as a standard, but it is worth taking into consideration as an exposition of some general aesthetic, axiological and worldview changes.

Author Biography

Maria Delaperrière, prof. dr hab., Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales, Paryż, Francja.

Przez wiele lat kierowała Wydziałem Polonistyki w Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales w Paryżu oraz Ośrodkiem Badań Środkowoeuropejskich na tej uczelni. Jest autorką książek: Les avant­gardes polonaises et la poésie européenne (1991); Panorama de la littérature polonaise des origines à 1822 (we współpracy z F. Ziejką, 1992); Dialog z dystansu (1998); Polskie awangardy a poezja europejska (2004); Pod znakiem antynomii (2006); La littérature polonaise à l’épreuve de la modernité (2008); Literatura polska w interakcjach (2011) oraz 150 artykułów naukowych. Pod jej redakcją ukazało się 30 książek poświęconych literaturze polskiej i środkowoeuropejskiej. Interesuje się kulturą Europy Środkowej, komparatystyką literacką, polską literaturą współczesną.
