Abstract

Abstract: Extremism and radicalism as an environment of the terrorism growth/terrorism escalation

            Political doctrines located on both edges of the line left-right ideological provides a convenient base for supporters of action based on violence. The problem is the use of the concepts of extremism and radicalism that must be considered separately. Extremism is based on violence and radicalism wants to achieve the objectives with respect for the principles of the political system. Past experience shows that both the extreme left and the extreme right to use violence linked to terrorism. Also, religious radicalism allow violence against people who do not wish to obey the basic principles laid down in the holy books. Countering extremism is a serious element of counter-terrorism strategy, which should serve as the basis for these activities.

doktor habilitowany nauk społecznych w zakresie nauk o polityce, doktor nauk humanistycznych w zakresie historii, profesor nadzwyczajny w Wyższej Szkole Policji w Szczytnie w Instytucie badań nad przestępczością kryminalna i terroryzmem. Zajmuje się badaniami nad ekstremizmem i radykalizmem oraz niemieckim systemem politycznym.
