Paleontolog, doktor PhD; kurator paleontologicznych zbiorów w Muzeum Historii Naturalnej w Maastricht (Natuurhistorisch Museum Maastricht, Niderlandy, www.nhmmaastricht.nl). Jego naukowe zainteresowania dotyczą badań nad skamieniałościami bezkręgowców późnokredowego i paleogenowego wieku, takich jak szkarłupnie, głowonogi, inne mięczaki oraz skorupiaki, zarówno biostratygrafia, jak i paleobiogeografia w większości północno-zachodniej i północnej Europy. Redaktor światowej rangi czasopism naukowych: „Cretaceous Research”, „Netherlands Journal of Geosciences”, „Palaeontology”, „Acta Geologica Polonica”, „Scripta Geologica”, „African Natural History and Natuurhistorisch Maandblad”.
