In this article the Spanish and Polish terminology related to entering into and annulment of marriage has been presented. Spanish legal terms come from the Civil Code (Código Civil), which is a fundamental source of law governing the institution of marriage in the Kingdom of Spain, while their Polish equivalents come mostly from the Polish Family and Guardianship Code, as well as from the Code of Canon Law, the Polish Civil Registry Records Act and the Polish International Private Law. The aim of this article is matching selected Spanish legal terms with their Polish equivalents on the basis of parallel texts, discussing the solutions suggested in relevant dictionaries and scholarly papers, as well as drawing inspiration in the process of creating equivalents.
