CALL FOR PAPERS - „Paidia and Literature” 2024, 6th release

2024-01-10

LITTLE ANTHROPOCENE

We invite you to submit articles for the 6th issue of "Paidia i Literatura" devoted to reflection on the Anthropocene, defined as the era in which man became a geological factor leaving its mark on our planet. Researchers understand the Anthropocene not only as a moment of destabilization of life on Earth, but also a period in which the existing categories that have organized the world so far turn out to be outdated and urgently require clarification.

So how do we sustain the story of childhood in the context of this planetary destabilization? What narratives should we use? How to create new stories? How to tell existing stories in such a way as to arrange the world according to other possibilities.

We invite you to think about:

− ecocritical reinterpretations of the canon of literature for children and youth,

− stories that break the existing narratives about the world (e.g. categories: profit, competition, hierarchy, power, justice, care, use of natural resources, etc.),

− the literary theme of the Anthropocene,

− the category of hope in the context of climate change,

− literature popularizing issues related to ecology,

− new literary and media phenomena in the context of the ecological crisis,

− interdisciplinarity of education for the Earth,

− activities of young people for the benefit of the Earth,

− field education,

− new regional education,

− natural history museums/exhibitions addressed to young people,

− (outdoor) pedagogy.

The list of issues remains open.

The issue also includes "From the World" and "Varia" sections.
